This morning I woke up at 7 AM, considerably earlier than my typical routine over the past two weeks, as I needed to prepare rice for lunch. The previous evening, my boss had messaged me requesting that I bring only rice, as she would provide dishes herself (I wonder: does she make this request of everyone?). Consequently, I cooked the rice in the morning to prevent it from spoiling after an overnight stay in the refrigerator.

I arrived at the workplace at 8:10 AM, which means I can depart at 6:10 PM. This evening, I’ve committed to assisting two high school friends with their house move, so I likely won’t return home until around 10 PM, though the timing remains uncertain.

Update: My boss has arrived, bringing an abundance of snacks for her employees.

This afternoon we welcomed a new candidate to our office for an interview. He successfully secured the position and was immediately thrust into a meeting (simply because it concerned crucial payment contracts and essential processes. The poor fellow had no time to breathe haha). We are bracing for a hectic period starting in September as the company’s IPO process commences. Moving forward, I’ll assume responsibility for any contracts related to events or projects I’m spearheading, rather than relying on our current temporary administrator.

In contrast to Vingroup – Vietnam’s largest conglomerate – the payment authorization process here is considerably more complicated. At Vingroup, a simple approved email attachment sufficed for partner payments. Here, however, the process involves extensive documentation and multiple departmental approvals: legal, accounting, and beyond. Nevertheless, this complexity does not faze me; it’s simply part of the corporate landscape.

I’ve just wrapped up the president’s personal profile and am now savoring a brief respite to compose this entry before heading out to assist my friend with their relocation.

Ironically, the office feels refreshingly cool, yet I’m certain the streets outside are absolutely sweltering.
