This morning I had to go to work after a day off due to yesterday’s severe storm (Despite the storm warning, nothing eventful occurred. I was hoping for at least some rain and wind to justify a day off). At 5:30, my broken tablet rang because I forgot to turn the alarm off. Consequently, the alarm woke me up twice, so I used my laptop to remotely turn it off (the tablet’s screen is broken, but other functions still work smoothly).
At 7:45, I officially woke up, brushed my teeth and changed clothes. After 20 minutes, I was ready to go to work. Just 5 minutes after stepping outside, it rained. I had to stop to put on my raincoat. But just a few minutes later, the rain subsided as if nothing had happened. The traffic today was moderately congested, so I had time to take off my raincoat.
I arrived at the workplace at 8:33 and clocked in at 8:36. With my boss attending an important event outside the office, I had the luxury of relaxing briefly rather than immediately diving into morning tasks. My colleagues kindly bought me a matcha latte, though unfortunately it was a little disappointing.
Moments ago, my boss tasked me with writing an article about the event. Back to business!
Update:
This afternoon, I wrapped up all morning tasks my boss gave me, including a social post and an article. Nothing much to do. I found myself scrolling through Facebook, catching up on news, and chatting with friends. On another note, we welcomed a new colleague today. He is a designer, from what I gather. However, I stumbled upon some concerning news: my desk neighbor is considering resignation. Despite being incredibly skilled and earning our boss’s complete trust, she yet feels uncomfortable with the workplace atmosphere and uncertain about her career trajectory here.
She has confided only in another female colleague so far, but losing her would be a tremendous loss and significant blow to our team.
That wraps up today. Tomorrow’s agenda is already set by my boss. So at least I won’t be wondering what to do next.
See ya later.
